Projects and Initiatives
|
The Office of Community Based Research oversees a number of successful and enriching initiatives working with all levels of society: local, regional, national to international in the themes of housing, food security, sustainability, Aboriginal health and community mapping, conferences such as CUexpo 2008 and networks such as the Vancouver Island Community Research Alliance, Community Based Research Canada, and the Global Alliance on Community Engaged Research. These initiatives are collaborations between community members, academic members and government representatives. OCBR is indeed making waves in the communities, universities and the international stages. Commmunity based research has evolved into a very powerful and useful methodology for everyone who wants to engage in a community driven initiative for community-based research. OCBR is working on another project called "The Vancouver Island Local Food Project"
