Megan successfully defended her PhD in 2019.
As a student of the ACS lab she combined her interests in the intersection of human governance systems and ecological systems, to pursue research that is applied and community driven. Working with the Wuikinuxv Nation, she continues to focus on coupled bear-salmon-human systems, specifically habitat and resource connectivity for coastal grizzly bears.
Megan is grateful for the support she received from Raincoast Conservation Foundation, Tula Foundation and Hakai Institute, Wuikinuxv Nation, Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Mitacs Accelerate Program, as well as the leaders, collaborators and friends from coastal communities she works with. She is also proud to have been a 2017 Fellow in Conservation Science with the Wilburforce Foundation.
