These programs support learners to think about, and practice, in the early years field in new ways and promote systems-wide changes in the design and delivery of programs and services for young children and their families.

investigating quality logoThe Investigating Quality (IQ) Project is led by a team of researchers based at the Unit for Early Years Research and Development, School of Child and Youth Care, University of Victoria. The team works with early childhood educators, college and university instructors, government officials, and policy-makers to broaden and deepen discussions on quality in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).

Encounters with Materials in Early Childhood Education PDF Print E-mail

The Unit's co-director, Veronica Pacini-Ketchabaw, has launched a three-year project with colleagues Sylvia Kind and Laurie Kocher that focuses on encounters with materials in early years settings. The main goal of the project is to broaden understandings of the role of materials in early childhood learning by engaging in art-based collaborative inquiry with young children and early childhood educators in two early years settings.
