An essay that merits publishing in On Politics is well-written and provides a compelling and well-articulated argument. The essay is academic in style and uses scholarly sources to support its argument. The tone of the essay is confident, and it does not merely review the literature on the subject. Where possible, the essay contributes original ideas and opinions to the subject in question.
Submissions to On Politics are welcomed from undergraduate students at the University of Victoria. Essays are typically 8-25 pages in length, not including notes. Published essays will be required to submit their citations using Chicago Style endnotes (see http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html). Please note that bibliographies will not be published.
Please send submissions electronically to onpol@uvic.ca with the article and notes attached as a single .doc or .rtf file. Any references made to the author's name within the document will be removed during the peer-review process.
